Remit of the Role  

I was invited by the board to undertake a review of all business systems and processes and make recommendations on the rationalisation required to integrate the newly acquired business (Elan) into the Manpower portfolio.

 
Projects & Activities
 
  • Business Process Re-engineering of all operations

  • Specified new KPI reports and development of management reporting pack

  • Undertook risk evaluation of the business in conjunction with both external and internal audit

  • Developed long term forecasting tools and methodologies

  • Implemented strategic projects into key business units.

  • Restructured credit control operations to improve working capital targets

  • Developed re-training programmes (front/middle/back office) following the recommendations emanating from the BPR project.

  • Specified legacy system enhancements prior to the deployment of new EMEA ERP system including remapping of the general ledger.

  • Undertook financial and commercial due diligence for the European Shared Service Centre for EMEA regional requirements.

 
Key Achievements
 
  • Business process reengineered/financial re-engineered Elan that included the review of all company operations which incorporated the shared service centre

  • Review resulted in debtor days being reduced from 55days to 42days

  • PAYE contractors working methodology saved £250k per annum

  • WIP reduced from 12 days to 9 days

  • Worked with 50 senior managers across the business to identify business critical issues across the company which lead to the improvements above.

  • Design, system review and specification, including key user requirements for new ERP system (Axapta) for EMEA deployment.
