Remit of the Role  

II was awarded the contract to rationalise business operations, re-engineer financial and reporting systems and facilitate the commercial development of the business. I was then invited to help sell-off the break-away start up, Smartcards International.

 
Projects & Activities
 
  • Global re-engineering of finance and reporting systems and produce mapping to Oracle financials at the European HQ.

  • Rationalisation of contractor base by undertaking commercial due diligence and review of the bids already won.

  • Developed the marketing collateral of the business in conjunction with the Executive VP

  • Managed out non-profitable elements of the client base.

  • Undertook commercial, legal, financial and operational risk assessment of the business.

Key Achievements
 

Re-engineered financial and reporting systems, and installed global project and time recording system as part of the European shared service centre.  Rationalised the contractor base down to 20 contractors.  Fully integrated the Smartcard operation of Fujitsu into Group Operations which included all management reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.  Negotiated the breakaway of Smartcards International, for which I later established core management team and sold the business to the Oberture Group for £10M.
