Dot Com Overview

I have developed in my own time a first class understanding of the dot com business model following my first interim role at Fujitsu where I was heavily involved in projects to deploy Smartcard infrastructure.  To capitalise on this knowledge I have successfully built two companies in the sector and I am presently looking to sell my interest in Art2Heart

Art4Rent.com
January 1998 - February 1999

Background to Company

Art4Rent.com was created in 1998 based on a concept of renting/leasing artwork to the corporate sector along the same lines as plant/tree rental companies that operate today.  Extensive research was carried out in the field and eventual beta launch resulted in a sale of the business

Achievements

  • Developed 3rd party relationships with art suppliers/universities/art shippers etc

  • Developed 'click through' revenue opportunities

  • Designed specific site architecture and navigation

  • Developed and maintained site content

  • Developed and implemented artist/client propositions

Art2Heart.biz
June 2003 to Present

Background to Company

Art2Heart has been credited with being the most successful and innovative company to enter the online dating market in the last ten years.  The company has been developed from initial concept stage through to launch and has had extensive press and TV coverage as interest in the company continues to grow.

Achievements

  • Designed and developed an opportunity in the 'Dating' market, whereby meetings between individuals would be built around the arts in its broadest sense, and that the business would be aimed predominantly at the A,B1 market who represented the core of the art attending public.

  • Recruited an expert in event management, and a former successful recruitment consultant who were instrumental in developing the concept and launching it in November 1993.

  • Secured the first event at the Haywood Gallery (South Bank Complex)

  • Attracted the attention of the national press and periodicals through this truly unique business concept.  Press coverage has included The Independent, The Times, The Telegraph, The Guardian, Time Out, The Express, The Daily Mail as well as appearing on BBC and being featured in publications such as Vogue, Elle, Harpers and Queen and the Field magazines.

  • Developed our client base to include The Saatchi Gallery, The Tate, The V&A, The Royal Festival Hall, The Royal Academy, The National Gallery and the Haywood and not to mention many exclusive private cinemas and galleries.  We have pulled of something that the whole industry is amazed by and not least the publicity.   As a result we have even had Dateline plc approach us with a view to making an offer for the business.

  • Nurtured a concept through to development and launch, which will now allow me to provide further concepts/advice to the other directors.

  • Developed all of the commercial, financial and company secretarial systems and processes

  • Developed the key proposition to the UK National Galleries

  • Executed a marketing strategy which included the development of direct marketing campaigns

  • Provided and coordinated event management

  • Established and developed third party relationships

  • Designed and made provision for the content for the entire website

  • Built relationships with both the press and national magazines
