Remit of the Role  

I was entrusted with producing all reporting concerned with the Chiltern & Estates Divisions and in addition all statutory reporting and project analysis of all building projects.

 
Projects & Activities
 
  • Produced monthly consolidated group management accounts

  • Produced 3, 5 and 10 year plans including rolling forecasts that derived from our land acquisition  and site development programme

  • Produced statutory accounts and managed the audit

  • Developed the group automated consolidation of weekly trading results (prior to the arrival of email) via transfer of ASCII code

  • Responsible for maintenance of fixed asset register

  • Produced monthly cash flow forecasts for the group

Key Achievements
 
  • Developed group consolidation of trading results using Excel

  • Commercial review of cost base resulted 6% bottom line savings

  • Produced fully consolidated accounts in Excel with a direct feed from the accounting system

 
Reason For Leaving
 
The late eighties housing market crash coincided with the tragic death of Charles Church himself.  This double dose of misfortune resulted in the company completely closing down half of its operations, which included the the Chiltern Division where I was employed.  I was made redundant in December 1989.
