Remit of the Role  

I was awarded the contract on the basis that I would stabilise the finance department and bring controls to the processes and procedures following two years up departmental upheaval. In addition, I was required to guide Ahrend through Y2K and transfer company operations (logistics, sales, operations and finance) to a new ERP system and following this implement a company wide training programme.

 
Projects & Activities
 
  • Implemented BAAN ERP system across the business and integrated it into Euro operational control

  • Prepared and delivered statutory accounts

  • Establish new financial and business controls/procedures/methodology

  • Presentation of budgets and performance data to European board members

  • Introduced sales qualification process to help with resource allocation

  • Undertook risk assessment on all new contracts including bespoke modelling to support project decision making.

  • Developed and reviewed client propositions including introduction of new cost model

  • Introduce sales forecasting tool to provide 12 month planning horizon (previously only 6 months)

Key Achievements
 

Strategic review and evaluation of all business operations. Re-engineered (financial & BPR) all reporting systems and processes.  This provided the business with the impetus to grow by 20% in the year following the completion of the assignment.
